Fred A. Toomer Elementary (FATE) is a traditional public school with 360 students in grades K-5, and is open to all students who live in the Atlanta neighborhoods of Edgewood, Kirkwood, and East Lake.
A majority of the 410 students come from low-income families, though families from a broad socioeconomic spectrum make up the school community, and FATE is distinctively inclusive of the diversity of families it serves.
Led by Principal Ashely Adamo, FATE fosters social emotional learning in an environment that values a multi-cultural perspective. This is reflected both in the school’s inclusive culture as well as its IB certification.
Features that make FATE a unique and welcoming community include passionate and involved parents, strong community partnerships, and a campus retrofitted to accommodate students with a range of physical differences.
